The truth hurts
I wrote last night's mini match report as soon as I got in, before I'd read anyone else's verdict. But it seems that Pepe Mel and I were indeed watching the same game.
"I'm annoyed that players who could have made a statement and made things hard for me, haven't done so," he said afterwards of his second-string line-up in Córdoba. "I'm sad because they've haven't made it difficult for me to put together the squad [for the next game]."
"It was a terrible first half for us, especially in terms of the attitude of some players, so it's no wonder things turned out as they did. The second half was better, but now we have a difficult result to turn around next Wednesday."
The "attitude" thing obviously hasn't gone down well with the footballers themselves, with Jorge Molina telling journalists testily today that "if that's what he thinks, what he should do is tell it to our faces [and not to the press]", but they can hardly disagree that they missed a chance to impress. The all-round performance was pretty average and they were actually lucky that Córdoba didn't take more advantage.
Today's focus has very much been on sporting director Vlada Stosic, whose summer signings largely made up last night's team. To be fair to him (and his team of scouts), we probably shouldn't be expecting the earth from a group of largely free signings, but Matilla (who cost €1.5million) is so far looking a long way from being a Primera-ready midfielder and hardly any of the others have improved last year's side. Of all the defenders signed, only Mario has consistently impressed and he's been injured more often than not (and will reportedly miss Sunday's game at the Vicente Calderón with a new niggle). I'm surely not the only person who thinks that the young Betis B side would probably beat last night's team.
Still, this minor disappointment shouldn't do too much damage to morale. It'll be a whole different team doing battle against a wobbly Atlético side at the weekend and there's no reason why they shouldn't come back with a point or three.

Re: The truth hurts
This is an English thread, so feel free to ask in English whatever you need. Sincerely, I haven´t understood your question in Spanish. You can restate it in English, so we can help you with your doubt.
As I´ve seen in your posts on other sites, you´ve been doing a kind of survey about the use of video cameras to re-arbitrate some polemic actions. You can always make a survey once you´ve posted a concrete number of messages in the forum (25, i think). If not someone else can always start that survey for you.
Thanks for coming by and Musho Beti, amigo.Última edición por 11romario11; 27/12/2011 a las 23:28
