  • Porto threaten to derail Betis’s Osvaldo bid

Real Betis are moving further away from signing Daniel Osvaldo with each passing day and things have become even more complicated with Porto throwing their hat in the race for the Argentine striker.

Real Betis were heavily linked with a move for the former Southampton goal-scorer, with the player admitting via his agent that he’d welcome a chance to move to the Benito Villamarin.

However, over the past several days, Betis have been resigned to the idea that they may not land the Italian international with Eduardo Macià admitting that the negotiations have become complicated.

Portuguese sports daily A Bola may have put the final nail in the coffin for Betis as they are reporting that Porto have also reached out to the player’s agent, Juan Carlos Ollero and are interested in bringing the 29-year-old in to replace Jackson Martinez, who just finalised his €35 million move to Atletico Madrid last week.

Real Betis are now believed to be considering other options in order to reinforce Pepe Mel’s side ahead of their welcomed return to the Primera Division.
