In an interview with ‘La Goleada’ on 13TV, Fiorentina’s Joaquín Sánchez has admitted that he is desperate for a romantic return to Andalusia with the club of his life – Real Betis.
Joaquín didn’t skirt around the subject when asked about his current situation in Fiorentina, making it very clear what path he wants the final moments of his career to go down.
“To return to Real Betis is the thing I want most in the entire world. Those colours. It’s becoming more likely every time. It is who I am.”
The 33-year-old spent over a decade at Real Betis at the start of his career, joining in 1994 as a young boy and eventually leaving in 2006 with over 200 appearances to his name. It goes without saying, that he remains a firm fan favourite in the South of Spain, and a return would without a doubt warm the hearts of many in Seville.
